Banknotes in Indonesia - uang kertas Indonesia

A precious 100,000 Rupiah gold coin special edition. Never have really seen it, but it shows a garuda bird, the Hindu national coat of arms and a waran, a monitor lizard from the Komodo & Rinca archipelago, an  endemic species of Eastern Indonesia.

The very latest banknotes from the Bank Indonesia (uang kertas Bank Indonesia yang paling baru pd tgl Oct 28, 2011 ). The still very popular Sukarno (Bung Karno, the first Indonesian president 1945 - 1967) is mapped to the new 100,000 Rp. banknotes. The above shown aluminium 100 Rp. coins are practically worthless, only needed in public city transportation or similar events.
